Pre-K/tk balance bike class
Our Pre-K/TK Balance Bike Class introduces our youngest students to the joy of biking in a safe, supportive environment. Children learn fundamental skills such as balancing, gliding, steering, and stopping — all using balance bikes designed for beginners. Through play-based activities, students practice coordination, build confidence, and learn simple safety concepts like helmet use and awareness of others. These early experiences lay the groundwork for smooth, confident riding as students grow.
kinder pedestrian safety classes
In kindergarten pedestrian safety lessons, students learn how to be safe and aware walkers in their community. Through interactive demonstrations and guided practice, children learn how to stop at the curb, look and listen for traffic, interpret basic street signs, and choose safe places to cross. These classes help build lifelong safety habits and give students the skills they need to stay safe on the way to and from school.
2nd grade pedestrian field trips
Our 2nd Grade Pedestrian Field Trips take classroom safety learning outdoors. Led by trained instructors, students walk a short route near campus where they practice real-world skills such as crossing at crosswalks, identifying traffic signals, spotting potential hazards, and walking with awareness. These supervised trips reinforce safe-walking habits and help students gain independence and confidence as pedestrians.
4th grade bike rodeos
Fourth-grade bike rodeos teach essential bike-handling skills in a fun, hands-on setting. Students rotate through skill stations where they learn proper helmet fit, starting and stopping, hand signals, turning, scanning, and navigating obstacles. Instructors also review bike-safety rules and responsible riding behavior. The bike rodeo helps students prepare for more independent riding in their neighborhoods and on local trails.
6th grade bike safety and skills pe class
During 6th grade, students participate in a Bike Safety & Skills unit taught through their PE classes. This program focuses on practical riding skills and safe on-road behavior, including lane positioning, signaling, turning, hazard awareness, and understanding right-of-way. Students practice these skills through guided riding exercises and confidence-building courses. By the end of the unit, students are better equipped to ride safely and responsibly in a variety of real-world situations.
8TH GRADE ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PRESENTATIONS
Our 8th Grade Active Transportation Presentations help students make safe, healthy, and independent transportation choices as they prepare for high school. Presentations cover safe walking and biking practices, helmet and equipment safety, sharing the road, route planning, and the benefits of active and sustainable transportation. Students learn how staying active supports their health and how their choices can positively impact their community and environment.
